Combine the Majestic History of Rome with the Romance & Beauty of the Amalfi Coast. Soak up history and magnificently beautiful vistas as you visit Pompeii, Naples, Sorrento, the Isle of Capri, safely travel the cliff-side Amalfi Coast Road then return to Rome to experience again the historical wonders of this magnificent city.

Day 1 Rome


Upon your arrival at Rome Airport, you will find your private driver waiting for you in the arrivals area and ready to bring you comfortably to your hotel in Rome after checking in the remainder of the day is yours to relax or explore Rome on your own.

Day 2 Rome


This morning enjoy a city walking tour which includes a visit to some of the best-known monuments of Rome beginning at Campo dei Fiori with its “open - air” market and then on to Piazza Navona, one of the most famous squares in the world. The symbol of the square is the“Fountains of Four Rivers”, designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. After a ten minute walk, we reach the Pantheon (visit inside), a building of ancient Rome, has been well preserved and is a true masterpiece of architecture. We then cross Via del Corso and in just 5 minutes we are at the Trevi Fountain, a true masterpiece and certainly the most famous and spectacular fountain in Rome. The last stop of our itinerary will be Piazza di Spagna, (Spanish Steps), the meeting place for travellers coming from all over the world. After the tour, you can keep walking on your own along the nice shopping area of Via Condotti, or you can just have fun and relax in the numerous shops and cafes in the area. The remainder of the day is free to pass as you choose. (B)

Day 3 Rome | Naples | Pompeii | Sorrento


Today an early morning departure sees you travelling towards Naples by coach, accompanied by a multilingual tour guide. Upon arrival in Naples our local guide will escort you for a walking tour of the historical centre to admire Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, Galleria of Umberto and the San Carlo Opera House. Enjoy lunch featuring typical Neapolitan specialities such as ”mozzarella, salami, pizza or pasta” (soft drinks included), before continuing to Pompeii where you'll enjoy a short visit to a coral & cameo factory. Then it's time for a guided visit of ​this famous archaeological site and to learn about the ancient way of life in this once prosperous Roman city before the devastation caused by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 CE. later in the afternoon proceed to Sorrento, a jewel of the Sorrentine Peninsula famous for the cultivation of oranges, lemons and olive trees. Check into your hotel and enjoy dinner this evening at the hotel. (B.L.D)

Day 4 Sorrento | Capri | Sorrento


After breakfast at your hotel you'll depart by boat to the island of Capri. Upon arrival at Marina Grande, enjoy a visit to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting), the Augustus Garden and a stop at the famous Piazzetta. Then transfers by Minibus to Anacapri. Visit of Anacapri with its magnificent views and enjoy some time at leisure. After lunch back to Marina Grande to board the boat to Sorrento. Dinner, this evening will be served in your hotel. (B.L.D)

Day 5 Sorrento | Rome


Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel before a full day at leisure to explore the famous and charming town of Sorrento at your own pace, or to visit one of the jewels of the peninsula such as Positano, Ravello or Amalfi. Departure from your hotel will be at 3.30 pm to meet your tour leader for the return trip to Rome. Approximate arrival time in Rome will be 09.00 p.m. (B)
 

Day 6 Rome


Today marks the end of your Rome & Sorrento tour. At a time to suit your departing flight, a private transfer will take you from your hotel to Rome airport for your return flight. Or, ask your travel agent about extending your vacation with CIT Tours. (B)
