Day 1: San Jose

Welcome to Costa Rica! Board your shuttle transfer to your hotel in the capital city and overnight. Places of interest include the Teatro Nacional, the Legislative Assembly building, and the Parque Central, east of which is the Cathedral. The National Museum and the Museum of Gold are also worth a visit.

Day 2: San Jose | Arenal

Breakfast at your hotel. Shuttle bus transfer to Arenal. Located in the north of Costa Rica, the impressive Arenal Volcano is a natural phenomenon that attracts thousands and thousands of tourists due to its permanent, extraordinary and trusted volcanic activity. Enjoy hiking through the rainforest at the base of the active Arenal Volcano. This park is filled with wildlife including monkeys, toucans, coati and a large variety of bird species. Your guide will help spot wildlife and give you a detailed history of the active volcano. After enjoy a soak in the Hot Springs with dinner included. (B, D)

Day 3: Arenal

Breakfast at your hotel. Experience the excitement and adrenaline of white water rafting on this half day adventure on the Balsa River with rapids graded 2/3. After meeting with your river guide at your hotel we will drive 30 minutes to the river where the fun begins! You guides explain the safety procedures and safety equipment before embarking down the river. Enjoy up to 2 exhilarating hours of white water action on this beautiful tropical river. Note: For the less adventurous, a tour to the Arenal Hanging Bridges can be arranged as an alternate activity to the rafting. (B, L)

Day 4: Arenal | Monteverde

Breakfast at your hotel. We will travel by van- boat-van with the Arenal Volcano as the backdrop to your next destination, Monteverde. This cloudforest reserve area, has become a major tourist attraction due to the abundant wildlife and thrilling adventure activities. After check-in, enjoy the afternoon at leisure to explore the local town of Santa Elena.(B)

Day 5: Monteverde

Start your day with an adrenaline filled zip canopy tour in Monteverde. This exciting adventure consists of traversing from treetop to treetop with specialized climbing equipment over a horizontal cable that is connected between the treetops of the cloud forest. And on each tree there is a platform on which you make stops to enjoy the scenery of the forest canopy. The canopy tour offers 14 ziplines, (up to 1,960 ft long and 260 feet above ground) Also a rappel, two swinging bridges, and the famous Tarzan Swing which is an incredible adventure.(B)

Day 6: Monteverde | Tambor

After breakfast, transfer by land on shared shuttle vehicle to the beach area of Tambor. Enjoy spectacular views of the mountains and Pacific coastline during your drive in. Enjoy the all-inclusive program (meals and drinks) at the *Barcelo Tambor for the next three nights. (B, D)

Days 7 & 8: Tambor

In these next 2 days you will enjoy all that the *Barcelo Tambor Beach hotel has to offer. Situated in Bahia Ballena on Tambor beach on the pacific coast of Costa Rica. Enjoy a marvellous location and an exceptional beach surrounded by stunning natural beauty. With the Barcelo all incluisve package you can enjoy the varied gastronomy offered at their restaurants which specializes in local and international cuisine. Also available are tennis courts. Day 9: Tambor to San Jose

Breakfast at your hotel. At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to the local airport for your flight to San Jose for your local flight back home. (B)
