Loch Lomond National Park is a mere 20 minute drive away and during a day excursion you will discover the beauty of Loch Lomond, have the chance to see Stirling Castle and taste some of the finest whisky at Glengoyne Distillery. Remember: Museums and Galleries in Glasgow are free of charge so do not miss to visit the following: Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, Burrell Collection, St Mungo Museum, People’s Palace, Gallery of Modern Art, Scotland Street School Museum and more.

Day 1: Arrival


On arrival in Glasgow transfer independently to your selected hotel. Check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to spend as you please. Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, is one of the liveliest and most cosmopolitan destinations in Europe, a city of culture and design. It is a place of renaissance and renewal offering a distinct city experience with an upbeat café society, nightlife, designer shopping, culture and art. Overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Glasgow


Relax and enjoy breakfast at your hotel before venturing out on a hop-on / hop-off city tour of Glasgow. Performed with mainly open top buses, this tour follows a route through the city centre and surrounding areas to all tourist attractions. Your ticket is valid for 24 hours and you have plenty of time to hop off and visit your favourite sites. Museums and Galleries in Glasgow are free of charge so you don't want to miss a visit to Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, the Burrell Collection, St Mungo Museum, People's Palace or the Gallery of Modern & Scotland Street School Museum, among others. Overnight accommodation at your selected hotel. (B)

Day 3: Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle & Whisky Distillery


Today discover a bit of Scottish countryside with a full day guided tour to Loch Lommond & Stirling Castle. Our route will take us north from Glasgow to Stirling Castle, where you can visit this imposing stronghold, the favourite residence of the Stuart kings and where Mary Queen of Scots was crowned. From the castle you can look down over the scene of Wallace's greatest triumph, the battle of Stirling Bridge, where he defeated the English army in 1297. With Bannockburn to the south this is an area alive with history! You then continue into the beautiful forest-covered mountains of the Trossachs and stop for lunch in heart of the National Park. This area, on the southern edge of the Highlands was home to Rob Roy Macgregor, the famous Scottish outlaw. A short drive then takes you to the "bonny, bonny banks" of Loch Lomond. At over 22 miles long and with 79 islands, this is Scotland's largest loch. Here you can visit the National Park Centre or walk along part of the West Highland Way to a hilltop viewpoint with spectacular views of the loch. We then travel onto the picturesque Distillery of Glengoyne, one of the leading "Malt Whiskies "in Scotland, for a tour and dram, before returning to Glasgow. Overnight accommodation. (B)

Day 4: Depart Glasgow


Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before check-out and then make your way to the airport or train station for your return journey. Alternatively ask your Travel Agent about extending your Scottish experience with CIT Tours. (B)
