Sunday - Arriving at Barcelona Airport you will be assisted making your way to the transfer to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is yours to spend as you choose, relaxing or getting to know this city on your own. Overnight Barcelona.
Day 2: Barcelona
Monday - Barcelona is one of the most beautiful & vibrant cities of Spain and this morning you'll be introduced to it most important sites. Explore Paza Catalunya, the Cathedral and its cloister, the city's Gothic Quarter before arriving at the Villa OlÃÂmpia & the Port OlÃÂmpic to tour on foot. Admire the panoramic view of the city from Montjuïc Mountain & visit the Poble Espanyol ti taste Catalan Cava, the renowned local sparkling wine. Your afternoon is free. Day 3: Barcelona | Vic | Figueres | Girona
Tuesday - Departing from Barcelona the first stop this morning will be at the city of Vic. Renowned for preserving the customs of the Middle Ages you can stroll the streets, visit the market and have lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon the tour heads for Figueres where you'll enjoy a guided visit to the Dali Museum before the drive to Girona for hotel check-in, dinner & overnight accommodation. (B.D)
Day 4: Girona | Montserrat | Sitges
Wednesday - This morning's tour of Gerona will include a visit to the Jewish Quarter which is one of the best preserved Jewish Quarters in Europe, and walk the paths around the old Roman city walls with its fantastic views of the city below or the narrow cobbled streets of the old part of the city soaking up the legends & myths of Girona during free time. In the afternoon travel up the mountain to Montserrat where the monks of the Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat worship Catalonia's Patrol Saint, the black Madonna of Montserrat. Later in the afternoon arrive in the seaside town of Sitges. Check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation (B.D)
Day 5: Sitges | Tarragona
Thursday - Sitges is one of the jewels of the Mediterranean with long beaches & clear waters nestled in a unique bay shielded from the sea. This morning's walking tour follows the à Route of the Americans" followed by free time to discover this pretty village. In the afternoon depart towards the Roman City of Tarragona where you'll find its richly layered history within the Old City's ancient walls. Dinner & overnight accommodation. (B.D)
Day 6: Tarragona | Santes Creus | Barcelona
Friday - Morning departure to visit the Cistercian Monastery of Santes Creus. Founded in 1150, today the Monastery has no monastic life which allows visitors to explore all angles of this splendid building. Lunch today will be typical of the area. An afternoon visit to the à Torres" wine cellars including wine tasting before travelling back to Barcelona for overnight accommodation. (B.L)
