Day 1: Arrival in Madrid
On arrival in Madrid make your way to the selected hotel. Check-in and remainder of the day at leisure to start exploring Madrid on your own.
In the evening you will enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour through the illuminated streets of Madrid, before arriving at Florida Park, a night club specialized in Spanish Ballet and Flamenco, where we will enjoy a magnificent performance of Flamenco songs and dances while savouring a tasty tapas dinner. Day 2: Madrid
In the morning, following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a panoramic sightseeing of Madrid's main historic, cultural & artistic sites, followed by a visit of the Royal Palace, a magnificent XVIII century building and former residence of the Spanish Kings. Admire it's its striking architecture and then tour fully furnished and decorated rooms, including the official reception, museum area, the Royal Chapel and private rooms of King Carlos III and Queen Isabel II, featuring a rich collections of tapestry, ceramics & clocks. The afternoon is free to spend as you please. Overnight accommodation at selected hotel. (B)
Day 3: Toledo
Breakfast at hotel. Today enjoy a full day tour of Toledo. Located one hour drive from Madrid, Toledo resembles an immense open-air museum and houses some of Spain's most genuine historic monuments. Considered a National Monument and declared World Heritage City, Toledo is also named the city of 'Three Cultures', as for a long period of time Christians, Muslims and Jews lived peacefully within its walls.
Entering the old town to visit the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall) and the Primate Cathedral, where you will enjoy a guided inside visit of this impressive Gothic building, and then walk through the old Jewish quarter with its narrow streets to visit Sta Maria la Blanca Sinagogue, the Church of San Juan de los Reyes and the Church of St. Tomé, home of El Greco's famous painting "The Burial of Count Orgaz". Continue to the house Museum of Victorio Macho, located high over the Tagus River with outstanding views of the valley, to admire works of the famous sculptor and watch a short documentary about Toledo. Your tour also includes a guided visit of the famous Alcazar de Toledo*, the vast fortified building hosting the Army Museum and the Library of Castilla-La Mancha, and some free time for lunch on your own. Before returning to Madrid, a visit to a typical Damasquino factory will introduce you to the ancient Moorish handicraft which consists of decorating non-precious metals with designs in gold, and for which Toledo is well known. * On Monday’s the Mezquita del Cristo de La Luz will be visited instead of El Alcazar.
Day 4: Madrid
Following breakfast at your hotel check-out and transfer independently to the airport. Alternatively you can book optional transfers through CIT Tours for added convenience. (B)
