A triangle of monumental interest is formed by combining these three Spanish Capitals - Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona. Discover the highlights of some of Spain's magnificent cities during this 10-day Independent Rail tour!

Day 1: Barcelona

Upon arrival at Barcelona airport, you will be met and transferred to your selected hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is free to relax or start exploring Madrid on your own.

Day 2: Barcelona

After breakfast at your hotel, make your way to the departure point for a regular morning Highlights of Barcelona tour which will take you, amongst other things, to see the Paseo de Gracia (the street with many Gaudi buildings are), and some of the 1992 Olympic sites,
as you head to the nearby mountain of Montjuic, which you will ascend to by cable car giving you great views of the city. After also be seeing the Pueblo Españyol, then return to Barcelona where the tour concludes with a guided walking tour of the old city centre and the Gothic quarter. Your afternoon is at your leisure to discover more of fascinating Barcelona. (B)

Day 3: Barcelona | Madrid

After breakfast, make your way to the Sants Rail Station where you will board your high-speed train to Madrid – a comfortable, enjoyable journey of some 625 km ́s that only takes 2 and 3⁄4 hours. On arrival, you will be met and transferred from the station to your hotel in the vibrant capital of Madrid.  The remainder of the day is free to explore on your own.(B)

Day 4: Madrid

After breakfast, your schedule today includes a panoramic city sightseeing tour of Madrid taking you to see the major avenues and sites of Madrid such as Ventas (the bullring) the Plaza de España, Moncloa and much much more. The tour also has a guided visit into
the majestic Royal Palace – the former Royal residence that remains in use for official ceremonies today. Afterwards, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore this mesmerizing city. (B)

Day 5: Toledo

After breakfast, make your own way to the departure point to join a full-day excursion tour to one of the oldest cities in Europe and a former capital of Spain in the Middle Ages, Toledo. Toledo, which is some 70kms from Madrid, is known as the City of Three
Cultures, its historical centre is a UNESCO declared World Heritage Site. You will enjoy a guided walking tour of the historical centre (with visits to the Cathedral, Synagogue and the Mosque), a typical local lunch (included) and, free time aside, a panoramic visit to
the rest of the city before returning to Madrid. (B.L)

Day 6: Madrid | Seville

After breakfast, make your way to the Atocha train station for your high-speed train journey to Sevilla. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the early afternoon, you will be collected from your hotel to join an Artistic Sevilla tour which commences with a delightful river cruise along the Guadalquivir river and continues with a visit to the Maestranza bullring. The tour then takes you to the famous district of Triana before terminating with a visit to the Basilica de la Macarena (Sevilla ́s most famous image of the Virgin is to be seen there) before returning you to your hotel. Day 7: Seville | Valencia

After breakfast, this morning we recommend a visit to the Cathedral and La Giralda, plus the Royal Alcazar, must-visit sites in Sevilla, along with seeing the emblematic Plaza de España. Later in the day, make your way to the Seville train station for your onward, direct, journey to Valencia where, on arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (B)

Day 8: Valencia

Today is a day to explore Valencia – whose original Roman name was Valentia (Bravery) - at your leisure. Famous for its Fallas Festival in March and where the authentic and iconic Spanish dish, Paella, hails from, Valencia has much to offer a visitor not least of which is its historic centre and its renowned Ciutat de Les Arts I Les Ciénces (City of Arts and Sciences) (B)

Day 9: Valencia | Barcelona

After breakfast, head to the Valencia train station for your final train journey to Barcelona where the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy your in Barcelona. (B)

Day 10: Departure

Today marks the end of you your Spanish Capitals Rail Tour. At a time to suit your departing flight make your own way to the airport to begin your journey home. Adios! (B)
