Today enjoy a small-group sightseeing tour of Paris combined with a visit to the Louvre Museum, all in one day. Start with a comprehensive half-day tour of Paris in deluxe air-conditioned minibus including all the major sites with 3 photo stops*. You will see the Place de la Concorde with its Egyptian obelisk, fountains & statues, the Madeleine Church, the gorgeous 19th-century Opera Garnier, Rue le Paix with its luxurious jewellery stores and Place Vendome with the column dedicated to Napoleon. We drive along Rivoli street and the elegant Champs Elysées Avenue toward the Arc de Triomphe, before proceeding to see the Eiffel Tower* built for the Universal Exhibition in 1889. After a short photo stop, you will follow the Seine river bank where most of Paris’ major historical buildings are located - Le GrandLend le Petit Palais, the Louvre Museum with its glass pyramid, the Tuileries gardens, the Place des Vosges in the Marais district with its narrow medieval streets, the Bastille square and its columns celebrating the French revolution. Crossing over to Ile de la Cité, we reach the famous Notre Dame Cathedral* where we stop for 20-minutes (due to the reconstruction works you will visit another monument in the area), before continuing on the left bank of the Seine to see the Latin Quarter, Le Pantheon, the Luxembourg Gardens, St Germain & St Sulpice Churches and Les Invalides, crossing some of the city’s famous bridges - Alexandre III, Pont Neuf - along the way. Finally, we visit the "village" of Montmartre* where you will have another 20 minutes to stroll around the Sacre Coeur Basilica and the Place du Tertre where local artists & painters display their works. All along this tour, our professional guide will tell you about the 2000 years of history of Paris. During the second part of today's tour, which lasts about two hours, discover the most important Museum in the world - the Louvre - visiting the main rooms of this temple of Arts accompanied by a licensed guide. You will first see the Pei Pyramid, the medieval foundation, and start the visit by the Denon hall with the famous Samothrace victory on the top of the monumental Daru stair. Continue through the “Grande Galerie” where you can admire many masterpieces from the 13th to the 17th century including those of Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael, Veronese, Tintoret, and many others. You will then proceed to the Italian Gallery and the rooms where the “grands formats” of the French painters David, Delacroix, Géricault, Ingres, and Fragonard are on display. And of course, you'll have a chance to see the famous Mona Lisa which now is in a special room dedicated just to her. The Museum is also famous for its Italian, French, and Egyptian sculptures and the famous sphinx and you will see the masterpieces of Michel Angelo, Donatello as well as the Venus of Milo. The Louvre is a huge place - our expert guide will optimize your visit by guiding you to the best places of interest and stay at your disposal to provide you with all explanations and make sure you discover all the major treasures of the museum. The tour ends after the guided museum visit at the Louvre and you can then remain inside if you want to deepen this visit by yourself or visit the commercial shopping gallery on your own. Our guide will tell you how to get back to your hotel. No drop-off at hotels. This tour lasts approximately 8 hours and has a maximum of 8 participants.
