Explore Northern Italy from Milan to the Dolomites, with a guided city tour, a scenic Bernina Express ride, and drive around the stunning lakes of Cortina. Day 1: Milan

Welcome to Milan! Upon arrival, meet your driver for a transfer to your hotel. Check in, settle in, and enjoy your first night in this vibrant Italian city.

Day 2: Milan | Bernina Express | Milan

Today, embark on the Bernina Express adventure, travelling on the historic UNESCO World Heritage train that winds through the Alps. After breakfast, transfer to St. Moritz for some free time before boarding the train. Marvel at breathtaking mountain landscapes, charming villages, and the stunning Bernina Pass as you journey to Tirano. From there, return by coach to Milan for an overnight stay. (B)

Day 3: Milan

After breakfast, enjoy a free morning to explore Milan at your own pace. In the afternoon, meet your guide for a three-hour walking tour through the city’s historic heart. Stroll from Porta Venezia, one of Milan’s oldest gates, through Corso Venezia and the scenic Giardini Indro Montanelli, passing the Galleria d’Arte Moderna. Continue along Viale Manzoni to the iconic Teatro alla Scala and the stunning Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano), before concluding at the majestic Castello Sforzesco. Relax with a traditional aperitivo at a nearby bakery before enjoying free time and returning to your hotel for the night. (B, Local Food Experience)

Day 4: Milan | Peschiera del Garda | Trento | Kaltern an der Weinstraße (Scenic Drive) | Bolzano

After breakfast, depart for Peschiera del Garda, a charming town on the southern shore of Lake Garda, known for its historic fortress, canals, and lakeside views. Continue to Trento, dominated by the grandeur of Castello del Buon Consiglio and home to architectural gems such as Santa Maria Maggiore, Geremia Palace, and Piazza Duomo with the Cathedral of Saint Vigilius.  Travel along one of Italy’s oldest wine routes, passing scenic vineyards, quaint villages, and serene lakes, stopping in Caldaro (Kaltern), renowned for its lake, wine, and blend of Italian-Tyrolean cuisine. Conclude the day in Bolzano for an overnight stay. (B)

Day 5: Bolzano | Merano | Vipiteno | Bolzano

After breakfast, travel to Merano, South Tyrol’s charming second-largest city, where you can explore the picturesque old town and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Continue to Vipiteno (Sterzing), a  postcard-perfect Alpine town with colorful streets, medieval architecture, and quaint shops offering local specialties.  In the afternoon, return to Bolzano, a vibrant city blending Alpine and Mediterranean influences. Discover its Gothic Duomo, stroll along the historic Via dei Portici, and soak in the unique culture and architecture. The evening is free to explore at your own pace before an overnight stay in Bolzano. (B)

Day 6: Bolzano | Bressanone | Brunico | Lake Braies or Lake Anterselva | Cortina

Today, visit Bressanone (Brixen), a picturesque town in the Eisack Valley known for its medieval cathedral and charming blend of Austrian and Italian culture. Continue to Brunico (Bruneck), with its colorful streets, historic Old Town, and gateway to the scenic Kronplatz Mountain.  Next, marvel at the stunning Lake Braies (Pragser Wildsee), nestled in the Dolomites with crystal-clear waters reflecting towering peaks. If Lake Braies is inaccessible, an equally beautiful stop at Lake Anterselva (Antholzer See) awaits. Conclude the day in Cortina for dinner and an overnight stay. (B,D)

Day 7: Cortina | Lake Misurina | Lake Dobbiaco | San Vito di Cadore | Cortina

After breakfast, set out from Cortina d’Ampezzo to explore the breathtaking Dolomites. Admire the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo, visit Lake Misurina with its stunning mountain reflections, and marvel at the emerald waters of Lake Dobbiaco. Continue to the charming village of San Vito di Cadore, framed by Mount Antelao and Mount Pelmo, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. Return to Cortina for free time, dinner at the hotel, and an overnight stay. (B,D)

Day 8: Cortina | Bassano del Grappa | Milan

After breakfast, leave the Dolomites and journey to Bassano del Grappa, a charming town at the foot of the Venetian Prealps. Stroll through its cobbled streets and vibrant piazzas, and admire the iconic Ponte Vecchio (Ponte degli Alpini) designed by Andrea Palladio. Visit the Museo della Grappa to learn about Italy’s famous distillate and enjoy a tasting of five grappa varieties. In the afternoon, return to Milan via a scenic route and enjoy an evening at leisure, with an overnight stay in the city. (B)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure.  Arrivederci! (B)
